Reliance Football Tournament Ends

Though we had high hopes for our footballers after doing so well in the first round, their later matches were not met with the same success. Though we did not go through beyond the pool stage, we are super proud of all our footballers who gave their very best. We hope to be better prepared next year and the boys are also very determined to make sure they do even better next time.

This was the first year that Mizoram took part in the prestigious Reliance Foundation Youth Sports competition. Photos and full details of all the matches are published on their website.

Reliance Football Tournament Begins

The Reliance Foundation have been sponsoring numerous national sports competitions in India for several years. This year, they are reaching Mizoram for the first time with a football tournament open to private English medium secondary schools. We are excited to take part and have high hopes for our boys.

The tournament started this week and our team drawn from Classes VIII to X headed down to the Police Football Field in ITI to compete against Living Stone School. They were cheered on by enthusiastic fans from Class IX. They won in great style with a 5-0 victory. Two goals were scored by Ben Hur, one from Lalruatkima, one from Rochanpuia and one from Remruatpuia. Not only did the team play well, but Lalruatkima Pachuau of Class VIII was even awarded Man of the Match!

The team looks forward to the next round of the competition and we thank Sir LSa, Sir Mawia and the wardens Sir VRa and Sir RKa for helping the boys prepare so well.
